Make sure to stay tuned for some more amazing places of history and nature.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Jajce<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The first references to the name of Jajce in written sources is from the year 1396, but the fortress had already existed at that time. The town is famous for its beautiful 22-metre (72 ft) high waterfall where the Pliva River meets the river Vrbas. The fortress in Jajce is built in the shape of an egg and it was name the Egg Fortress and later gave its name to the city.<\/p>\n<p>Very close from Jajce town there is also a Pliva Lake, favourite spots for fishing,\u00a0 kayaking, and canoeing. Old wooden watermills on Pliva Lake are one of the most famous Bosnian landmarks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>The Mithraeum<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This temple is dedicated to the Persian invisible sun god, Mithras. The Mithraeum is one of the oldest monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Old city of Jajce<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The walled city of Jajce is predominantly king Stephen Toma\u0161evi\u0107\u00a0or\u00a0Stephen II\u00a0was ruling from.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Catacombs<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the 14<sup>th<\/sup> century Hrvoje Vukcic Hrvatinic, ordered building the catacombs as a place of last residence for himself and his family.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:image Museum<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In November 1943, the Antifascist Council of National Liberation of Yugoslavia (AVNOJ) took place in Jajce.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!--
